The Edge 30 Neo is the most affordable offering among their Edge 30 series introduced this year. With this phone, Motorola hopes to take advantage of the compact mid-range segment which is comparatively without heavy competition.

Measuring 152.9 mm in length, 71.2 mm in width, and 7.8 mm in thickness, this smartphone is compact by today’s design standards. It weighs only 155 grams, therefore, it’s easy to use with one hand in general. There are four color options to choose from, Very Peri, Black Onyx, Ice Palace, and Aqua Foam which are of course, acquired from Motorola’s association with Pantone, a fresh step in the right direction. With this move, the company aims to attract the youth looking for fashion elements in everything.

The bright and colorful P-OLED screen defines the face of the phone. Its bezels are thin and proportionate, and the selfie camera is placed inside a tiny hole at the top center. The loudspeaker is on the bottom edge, along with the USB-C port, the SIM card tray and a microphone.

Between the phone’s frame and screen, the ear speaker is positioned on a long and thin cut-out. The plastic back is in matte finish and it’s grainy so that it doesn’t slip from your hand easily, but the plastic may get scratches when handled in a careless manner. Power button and Volume rocker are on the top right edge of the phone.

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo is based on the mid-range Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G mobile platform. The SoC is built on a 6 nm manufacturing process and includes a capable octa-core processor paired with an Adreno 619 graphics chip. The phone’s memory is 6 or 8 GB of RAM and the internal storage is 128 or 256 GB which is decent enough for regular use.

Around 113 GB of the storage space is actually usable as the rest being occupied by the operating system and apps. Also, to note that it doesn’t have a memory card slot. At the same time, it supports 5G networks and is  dual SIM compatible accepting two nano-SIM cards.

The phone gets a compact 6.28 inches P-OLED display capable of showing over 1 billion colors at a resolution of 1080 by 2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display has a high pixel density of about 419 pixel per inch and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The phone offers a dual-camera system on the back, a main 64 MP (wide) camera, with phase-detection autofocus and Optical Image Stabilization and a secondary (macro + ultrawide) 13 MP camera. The front camera (selfie, wide) is 32 MP. The main camera system is backed by a dual-LED flash. The main camera can also shoot slow-motion videos.

The company says that the smartphone can get power for about 12 hours of normal use in just 10 minutes. It also has support for wireless charging at 5 Watts. Overall, Motorola Edge 30 Neo is an impressive mid-range Android smartphone for daily use.
