Kochi: Kerala Blasters have signed defender Abdul Hakku from Tirur, Malappuram. He represented North East United in the last season. Six feet tall Abdul, who is very quick on his feet and plays as a central defender and right back, is the second player from Malappuram being roped in for Kerala Blasters after Anas, who was earlier included.

Hakku had spent five years at the Sports Academy Tirur (SAT) before signing with DSK Shivajians. In 2016, he made his professional debut for DSK Shivajians in the I-League. In 2017, Northeast United FC chose Abdul Hakku and he won the emerging player award in his debut match against Jamshedpur FC.
