Info on Pixel Watch’s official name comes courtesy of a spotting in new filing at the US Patent and Trademark Office
The tech arena had been abuzz since quite a few days with nits and pieces of info on the impending arrival a watch made by Google. The first watch from the Google stables had created quite a bit of anticipation, and now as if to catapult our hopes, the watch has a name.
To be known as Pixel Watch, following a trademark filing, the first-party Wear OS-powered smartwatch is finally coming. Codenamed Rohan internally, the watch’s official nomenclature has been spotted new filing at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Pixel Watch could show up at Google’s I/O event
It needs to be believed that Google would want to call its category of smartwatches Pixel Watch, going by the filing. Not just the smartwatches, a report suggested that the Pixel Watch name could come along with the cases adapted for holding smartwatches; wearable computers in the nature of smartwatches; smartwatch straps; smartwatch bands from the Google stables.
Details under wraps
The trademark filing, however, stops at giving away just the name. No other details are yet unwrapped, and so it seems like a wait would now be on to know more. But then, finally knowing the name of the new upcoming smartwatch, the first from Google, is in itself encouraging, isn’t it?
We need to expect the launch of the Pixel Watch, may be, at next month’s Google I/O developer event. The company had earlier unveiled devices such as Pixel 3a and Nest Hub Max at earlier I/O developer events, and so this time around we need to expect the Pixel Watch. But the, you needn’t be so sure about that, as the wearable device has not yet been spotted hopping on to the FCC or Bluetooth SIG listings.
