It uses the GameCool 6 cooling system to reduce heat. Apart from the AreActive Cooler attachment, there’s also a 30% larger vapour chamber internally, along with an enlarged graphite sheet in order to keep the temperature under control. The cooling system cuts down the surface temperature of the device by up to 25C.
The device is equipped with a screen size of 6.78 inches AMOLED that provides a resolution of 1080 x 2448 pixels. The high-spec screen has a 165Hz refresh rate. The device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front. It comes with 1B colors, 165Hz, HDR10+, 800 nits (typ), and 1200 nits (peak). It has an aluminium frame and a glass back with Gorilla Glass 3.
The dimension of the device is 173 x 77 x 10.4 mm and it weighs 239 grams. Space Grey is the only available color option. It is IPX4 water resistant and has pressure sensitive zones as Gaming triggers. The 6000mAh Li-Po battery is split into two, to keep balance with its weight more evenly, and to produce less heat when in use and when charging. The 65W fast-charging helps to reach from 0% to 100%, in just 42 minutes.
A high performance machine for you
On the camera front, the phone has three sensors on the rear. The main camera uses a 50-megapixel wide sensor. It has a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. Recording footage can be taken in up to 8K resolution at 24 frames per second, or 4K at 60 fps.
There’s a 12-megapixel camera on the front for selfies. The camera app UI is feature-rich and systematic. All the cameras are good at capturing details. With respect to sound quality this phone lives up to the image of the ROG series.
GameFX, as referred by the parent firm Asus, consists of two speakers, both are of a 5-magnet, 12×16 Super Linear Speaker set up, with a max excursion of 0.8mm and front-facing with Dirac HD sound. These speakers are connected to dedicated Cirrus Logic CS35L45 mono amplifier.
The ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is absolutely a tempting option for mobile gamers seeking best performance. It will go on sale in late October in Europe priced at £1,199/€1,399.
